Frank has been telling us for the past two days.
The snow, freezing rain, and ice is coming and I need to get ready today.
So after work, I have to run by Lowe's or Home Depot to get some salt for my driveway.
I need some good traction when I head out Thursday morning.
Also, de-icer and an ice scraper. I may have a little de-icer left, I need to check on the condition of my ice scraper.
Lastly, wash my gloves, scarves, long johns, and flannel socks. They have been locked away for months now I want them clean and fresh for the first snow storm of the season!
I got get ready...I got work to do!!!

I'm kinda dreading the upcoming weather... Remember the big ice storm from last year? I was driving my mother in law's 1997 Chrysler LHS with bald tires (I replaced them right after the Feb storm). Oh what fun it is to ride...and slide. I don't think my 06 Stratus will be nearly as much fun.
Tierney,I think you do a fantastic job covering the news.I have to say, because of you, I started watching 5NEWS. Of course most days, I'm usually running late to work. Just can't get enough of watching Ms.Cook. Frank good job as well.
Comments on how to dress for the cold. As an outfitter and outdoorsman from Wyoming, I thought that I would leave a few hints.
First: WEAR NO COTTON - it absorbs water from persperation/outside, and when you are damp, you are cold.
Skin Layer: use a nearly skin tight layer of polyester that will pass persperation away from you.
Layer 2 Insulation: I use synthetic "fleece", but wool sweaters or pants will work.
Layer 3: (more wool/fleece insulation)
Outer Layer: Windproof Layer: Use parkas with hoods, as well as windproof (or goretex) pants. Gaiters will keep your ankles snow free.
Hats: Use your sock hat.
Gloves: Get oversize gloves with a weatherproof shell, and then get wool innergloves (Smartwool is my favorite).
Socks: Inner sock of persperation passing material, and thick wool outersock.
