This Saturday at 5:45 am you will find me at Lake Overholser!!!!
It's time for the 4th Annual Race for the Rainbow Race for the Oklahoma Brain Tumor Foundation!

I am in charge of registering all the runners that morning and boy will it be cold!!!
I am a board member of the Brain Tumor Foundation.
My senior year of high school my mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor a hair from her spinal cord.

I remember the day she found out vividly.
I had picked up my little sister from school, we were arguing because she made me wait out front.
We walked into the kitchen, and my mom's head was laying on the table.
The argument immediatly stopped.
Her best friend was standing over her, and said, "We found out why your mom has been having all those headaches, they found a tumor." I ran out of the house full speed jumped in my car and drove to my best friends house.
When she (Brittny) opened the door I burst into tears!!!
I am not normally a crier but for days following the diagnosis I thought I would run out of tears.
Wondering would she miss my prom, graduation, first day of college all that!!!

We flew to Little Rock to meet with a brain surgeon.
My mom had brain surgery, recovered, and is doing well. I work with the foundation for her, and for other kids whose parents have tumors.
The foundation raises money to help families pay for the expensive surgeries, and provides emotional support families.
