Caught on Tape
Posted by: Executive Producer, Julie Fike
Whoa. What a morning. Adam Slinger and Dan Ryan were out in Shawnee reporting on that deadly semi-truck wreck and got a little too close to another wreck. Troopers say the driver of the second wreck was rubber-necking and caused the second wreck. One person went to the hospital.
You actually hear the "crunch" on camera and then Adam yells at Dan what is happening. This all happened live on our air this morning. It was an amazing live shot but not to mention my heart sank to my stomach.
Sometimes reporting and being a photographer can be dangerous. You don't have to be in a war zone or chasing tornadoes for a situation to turn from safe to unsafe in a split second. Adam and Dan are okay and weren't too close to the accident this morning.
We strive to bring you live, local, latebreaking coverage but know we also want to be safe in the process.
