Dogs Must Think We're Crazy

Posted by: Executive Producer, Julie Fike
A last minute decision has me running in the OKC Memorial Marathon Relay. Of course, my team volunteered me to run the longest stretch, the 12k, 7.6 miles. Ouch.
I was doing an assessment run yesterday on my treadmill at home. It was rainy and I didn't feel like getting out and going to the gym or braving the elements at Lake Hefner with my trusty sidekick, Buddy.
So I'm drudging it out in my living room when I noticed Buddy looking up at me. I'm sure if you have a dog, you've seen a similar look. One that says, "what are you doing running in place." I'm sure to him, he thinks I'm purely insane. Buddy loves to run and leap, my mother has dubbed it "gazelling." Like the African animal. To him, I'm sure I'm the strangest owner. Who, in their right mind, would run for 45 minutes without getting anywhere?
In some part, I agree. However, Buddy doesn't have a care in the world. He doesn't have to deal with things like......naturally curly hair.
Good Luck to everyone running!
