Vick vs. Lohan
Posted by Tierney Cook.
Micheal Vick (Atlanta Falcons Quarterback) has been in the news all day today, he has plead guilty to federal dog fighting charges.
It's been reported he helped kill some of the ill performing dogs in a dog fighting ring.
He could go to jail for 5 years for the federal offense.
I'm a huge dog lover, grew up with them my whole life.
But how is it he could go to jail for killing dogs, when Lindsey Lohan spends 1 day in jail for her second drunk driving offense.
I want to know what you think.
Should Vick get the tougher sentence for his dog abuse.
Or should Lohan spend more time for driving under the influence.
SOUND OFF.....
NOW!!!

Who is endangering the lives of fellow humans ?
I would say the drunk driver is doing so. These days, it seems that animal cruelty is more of an crime than the jeopardizing of human life.
It is a sad day when we are debating the lesser of two evils, as in this case. Perhaps the greatest tragedy of all is that our legal system is so far gone and 'punishment' is rendered based upon factors such as wealth, status, and subjective interpretation of the law. Additionally, this blog eludes in a passive way that this is a race issue, which I do not beleive for one instant. Is it worse to drive under the influence or kill animals for sport? Maybe a lesson should learned here that no matter how children are raised, culturally speaking, without properly educated parents positively influencing behaviors, the outcome will be adults who lack good judgement.
So, which of these two indivudals should be punished more harshly? A professional adult who knows right from wrong hanging and drowning dogs who do not perform in an attmept to 'cash in'? Or, a 20-something primadonna who has been groomed toward a life of excess? Perhaps we, as a society, should be punished for allowing these behaviors in the first place.
My heart is saddened when I listen to mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers, and families who have loss someone to drunk driving. Lindsay may not have killed anyone, but by driving drunk she has endangered the lives of many innocent individuals. Giving her a mere pat on the hand will do nothing to stop her behavior. She needs to be punished severely for her rebellion. I am fed up with all these celebrities who act as though their money makes them above the law.
No doubt, others have gone to prison for dog fighting. We never hear of them probably because they were not important enough to get media attention. Vick’s actions stem from a culture that glorifies disrespect towards women, hatred for police officers and any form of authority. This culture is exploding and will ultimately cause an increase in crime. By making a public example of him his fame will definitely get the message across to both rich and poor that cruelty to animal or anything is wrong.
