Getting Fit!
Posted By Tierney Cook
It's almost here.
I have hired a trainer to help get in shape and stay healthy.
You know her, she's Trainer Laura.
She popped up a few times on Eyewitness News 5 in the Morning.
Starting on Monday she and I will be working out!
Of course inside.
Already she has changed my eating habits, as you know I do not eat a lot of meat.
So protein was absent in my diet.
No I am chomping down on soy nuts, roasted edamame beans, turkey even chicken.
I have a steak every once in a while.
I am excited about learning how to work out and feel better.
This is a lifestyle change, I am prepared for sore muscles, sweat, tears and RESULTS!
I'll keep you posted.

Congrats, Tierney! Committing to work with a trainer is a great way to really make a change in your exercise and diet habits. For me, there were two main reasons that hiring a trainer changed my behaviors for the better.
First, the entire basis for the relationship between me and my trainer was to focus on my exercise and eating habits. Work out buddies tend to let things slide--a missed workout, one more cheat meal, etc. Trainers don't really care--they are there to keep me focused, which has been great for me.
Second, trainers cost money. I was much less inclined to skip workouts since missed workouts still cost me money. And since I'm a cheapskate, I made sure I got my money's worth!
I've 'graduated' from working with a trainer (can't afford any longer). But thanks to the great habits I formed, I'm still making progress on my own. I'm about 85% to my goal weight (only 11 lbs to go!).
That is great! I am super excited about DAY 1 with the trainer. I decided to wear black today to my first session since the funeral for fat starts today! YIPPEE!!
