My Weekend Movie Extravaganza

Posted By Tierney Cook
I could prbably do this every Monday, because I see at least one movies a weekend.
This weekend I saw 2 1/2.
"Jumper"; "Gone Baby Gone"; and most of "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford."
First up...
"Jumper".
You can tell they spent most of the money on the special effects and not on the actors.
The "jumping" looked really cool, but I think James Franco would have been great in the lead.
Hayden Christiansen plays David Rice in the movie but Franco (the villain in the Spiderman movies) would have been perfect for this part.
Also not a huge Rachel Bilson fan, she played the love interest. I think Scarlett Johannsen or Kate Bosworth would have worked. Samuel Jackson was good.
Other than the actors there were a lot of holes in the plot line. We don't know why they jump or how they jump, none of that was answered.
They left it open for a possible sequel.
I give it a B-
"Gone Baby Gone"
This movie is really long. I think close to 3 hours. A couple of twists and I had to turn on the closed captioning because the thick Boston accents on the actors were kinda hard to understand.
Other than that I really liked this movie. Casey Affleck was great, he is a really good actor. Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris are also in the movie and you know they are good.
Maggie Carlo told me to check it out, I am glad I did, I liked the movie.
Unlike "Jumper" the acting in this film was great.
"The Assassination of Jesse James...."
I fell asleep during this movie, not because it was boring, but I had to work yesterday, it threw off my sleep schedule and when that happens I normally don't make it through a movie.
I rented it, so I will try to watch it this week and report back.
What I saw I liked.
If you saw any movies, let me know.
I think Julie saw "Atonement" maybe she will leave a review.
