Friday, December 8th... a sad day at KOCO 5... the day we said goodbye to Terri Watkins. She's off pursuing other interests, and it won't be the same without her.
Terri worked at this station 24 years and in that time racked up a number of awards, big stories and was even inducted into the Oklahoma Journalists Hall of Fame. But I think Terri will tell you it's not the awards or acclaim that make her happy. She loves telling a good story. She PERSONALIZES each report. She knows Oklahoma and what's important to those of us who live here.
I love watching her on air because she makes me feel connected to the story... and she simply tells it like it is.
When I first came to KOCO more than three years ago, Terri went out of her way to show me around and help me learn the ropes. I've watched her do it with every new face around here.
She inspires... and she truly cares!
I'll miss you, Terri.
