Favorite Christmas Movies

Posted by: John Flick
There are a couple movies included on my "mandatory holiday viewing" list.
"A Christmas Story" is right up there even though it does bring back some scary moments in my life . You see, I once stuck my tongue to a frozen pole on the playground. I was in second grade and didn't realize the ramifications of what I was doing. It was a little dicey for a couple seconds, but I managed to pull it free and only lost a couple taste buds.
And, talk about irony, the name of that character in the movie... can you remember?... yes, it was "Flick."
If you haven't seen "Elf" with Will Farrell you should check it out. Sure it's goofy and sometimes sappy, but it has a great message (I even teared up a bit at the end). Besides, nothing gets you in the holiday mood like a raccoon on the rampage. (check out the picture above left)
May your holiday movie viewing be merry! Feel free to share you favorites.

Ah yes..A Christmas Story continues to bring back so many wonderful childhood memories--freezing our tongues to poles, talking funny for hours afterward, nearly shooting one another with red ryder BB guns, and the gigantic bubble snow suit (complete with mittens) that never allowed us to get full range of motion and created tense moments when the urge to visit the restroom hit! Yes, A Christmas Story is a classic!
Ho
Ho
Ho.
I love it, too. It manages to be cynical and hopeful at the same time.
A Christmas Story is by far tops! BUT...you can't forget Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase!!! I love the whole chaotic mixing and mingling with extended family and in-laws. To some degree we all have one to a few family members that are a little off…that seem to make holiday gatherings that much more special (lol)!
