I'm Bringing Winter Back

Posted by: John Flick

I'm back from vacation and it was a wild one. I went to Washington and I think the Oklahoma wind followed me. They had the worst wind storm in at least 10 years.
The first part of my trip was spent with family in Spokane. Wind gusts got up to 50 or 60 miles per hour, downing structures and power lines.
In Seattle, the destruction was worse. I went there to find half the city in the dark. It was strange to drive through neigborhoods at night in total darkness. No street lights, no holiday lights... stores and homes were blacked out.
Gas stations were turning people away because everyone was filling up generators.
Friends of mine had a holiday party with no power. You just had to be careful where you walked because candles were everywhere.
While gone, I understand Tierney commented on what seems to be a "Flick Phenomenon"... where I go, so does the bad weather. I'll try to keep my sunny disposition and hope that makes up for the winter weather that "coincidentally" came back to Oklahoma the same day I did.
