My Movie Review

Posted by: Executive Producer, Julie Fike

At Tierney's request, here's my review of "Atonement."

I liked it. I saw it with a guy and he thought it was "okay." And no, I didn't drag him to this so-called chick flick. He wanted to go so he could see it before the Oscars. It's been nominated for seven Academy Awards.

In "Atonement," a girl purposefully destroys her sister's life by accusing her lover of a rape he never committed. Without giving too much away, I liked the way the story was told. It was very "Lost," inspired. There's lots of different perspective-type scenes, flash backwards and down right made up scenes to throw you off. It's all cleared up in the end. Brilliant!

I will say, all the guys I've known who saw it say it's too long. (read: Adam Slinger, Rick Bagley) I'll give them that but it's a British film. They love to sit on certain shots and let you soak it in and get your mind going. I think it's one of these film that you'll love it when it comes on cable. You'll watch it everytime because of the timing you can do other stuff around the house and not miss the good parts. --Julie
