Whew... A Second To Write
Posted by: Executive Producer, Julie Fike
Whew...I have a second to write. As you might have discovered, we've been busy around here. With people getting much needed time off, we've all been covering for each other and been really busy.
As two of my good friends noted, "Julie you are slacking on blogging!" Well right they are and they quickly put me in my place. Thanks guys.
Okay so for a quick story......In the midst of a sad moment, a funeral, a humorous thing happened to me recently. I was driving to the service when I saw the most peculiar thing, the car next to me, the driver's hand in a dishwasher glove, ya know the kind that are rubbery and yellow, with a cigarette in his/her hand. I couldn't see who was driving but started laughing so hard tears came to my eyes and I couldn't breath. I hollered at my brother in the passenger seat to look over there because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Then my brother noticed something else, the driver was wearing a nun's habit. A nun, smoking, with a rubber glove on her cigarette hand! We got a much needed kick out of the situation and thought I would pass it along to you all.
As I said we're working very hard here on Eyewitness News 5 in the morning. This week we have some fascinating stories. Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, October 20, Spooky Sites of Oklahoma. John braved the horror stories and went in search of the spookiest places in our area just in time for Halloween. Then starting Thursday, November 1, Tierney is working on a story that has many people asking, "Are We Living In the End of Days?" We'll hope to see you all this week on Eyewitness News 5! Julie

Up With the Cowboys
Posted By Tierney Cook
Don't fret Julie!
Your Bears will be back!
I know your pain.
I was on the edge of the couch during the Cowboys game against the Bills.
All list of interceptions thrown by Tony Romo, I was nervous what this meant for the rest of the season.
Then last week's loss to New England. There was one play when Roy Williams was just standing in the end zone looking around when a Patriot made a touchdown.
HELLO!!! WATCH YOUR GUY ROY!!! WE DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR THIS!!! HELLO! ANYONE HOME!!!
I will not give you grief about your Teddy bears (okay just a little but that is it).
Your Bears will be back, but they are not as good as the Cowboys. Sorry had to say it!
LOVE YOU AND HAPPY BOSSES DAY!!!

I Can Admit It
Posted by: Executive Producer, Julie Fike
Okay, okay, I can concede to defeat as well as triumph, so here it goes, my Chicago Bears are feeling pretty low. My team is last in its division and it's not looking good for even the playoffs right now. Cowboys fans rejoice.
How far we've sunk in a year's time. Last year, Division Champs and in the Super Bowl to a complete dismantle of everything good. But let me tell you I'm a good winner and a good loser. I'm not sore, although my so-called friends aren't making things easy for me.
I'm getting all kinds of text messages on Sunday about my Bears and they aren't very consoling. They've even been called "teddy" Bears. Ouch. I'm not making excuses or even whining. I'm just sad as a fan.
My brother always makes fun of me because on this blog I'm always writing "Go Bears." I don't know if I can write that today, I'm afraid of where they'll "go." I can only hope they get it together so it's not a total washout of a season.

Great ABC Shows
Posted by Tierney Cook
My DVR is working overtime, especially on Wednesday nights.
I love Pushing Daisies, Private Practice and Dirty Sexy Money.
Since I have to go to bed so early, I normally record the shows and watch them on my lunch break and after I work out.
So tomorrow morning will be a busy one. I am interested in wondering where Dirty Sexy Money will go once the lead character figures out who killed his father.
It's so good!
Let me know what you think of the new ABC shows.

Let's Get Fired Up!
Posted by: Executive Producer, Julie Fike
The Bethany Bronchos will be on our studio patio tomorrow, Friday! We're so excited. Each week our sports team picks the Bob Moore Game of the Week and this week it's Bethany vs. Bridge Creek. We'll have cheerleaders, members of the band and possible the mascot getting us pumped for Friday night football.
Last Friday, we had the kids from Western Heights. They couldn't have been nicer and really pumped up our team for a great morning and great weekend. Tierney was off last Friday and she'll be off this Friday as well. It makes me kinda sad because I know a little secret about her...she was a cheerleader years ago in McKinney, Texas. Can't you see her doing the cheer, "let's get fired up." I know I can!
We hope to bring you these Friday pep rallies every week! Watch and get fired up for the weekend!

Walking to School
Posted by Tierney Cook
Each year more than 600 child pedestrians are killed in the United States.
This morning, Safe Kids Oklahoma will highlight some of the dangers of walking to school, and I get to take part!
I will be walking the grounds at Heronville Elementary School in Southwest Oklahoma City.
They will look at changes to the school to make walking safer, but also why walking to school is great exercise!
I'll be there with Lieutenant Governor Jari Askins & Mayor Mick Cornett!
Thankfully the weather will be great!
