APRIL FOOLS!!!
Posted By Tierney Cook
Happy April Fools Day.
I had to take some time out and tell you a great April Fools prank I played on my mother one year.
In the Cook household with three girls we all had dish duty day.
The day where each girl was responsible for cleaning up after dinner.
When I was around 12 my dish day fell on April Fools Day.
My father and I concocted an great way to get me out of dish day. (Can you tell I'm a daddy's girl)
He picked me up from school and on the way home I told him let's play a prank on mom.
We decided we would tell her, the school nurse said I was sick, and that I had a rash on my hand.
I needed to keep it out of water for 24 hours or the rash would spread.
We picked up some bandages at the corner store and headed home.
To add to the "trick" (my mom now calls it a lie) we told her the school gave me some sort of medication that made me drowsy.
So we walked in, my dad carrying me, I'm playing like I am sleep and holding my "infected" hand to my heart.
My mom (like most) felt sorry for me, made my plate for dinner, sat me on the couch and waited on me hand and foot for about two hours.
Mom did the dishes for me that night. As I watched her slave over all the dishes I felt bad and told her, APRIL FOOL!!!
I was grounded for a week.
She said, "Now who's the fool."
